Students gathered on the school ground, adorned with the vibrant colors of the Karnataka flag, symbolizing the pride of the Kannada culture.The event was skillfully moderated by Aryan Shenoy from the 9th standard, who welcomed everyone to the gathering.
The program began with a melodious Prayer Song, invoking blessings and setting a positive tone for the celebrations. Following this, Aryan extended a warm welcome to all the students, teachers, and guests, emphasizing the significance of the day in promoting the Kannada language and culture.
Following the prayer, the program featured a beautiful rendition of Karnataka state anthem, a traditional Kannada song that resonated with the audience, evoking a sense of unity and cultural pride among the students and staff.
Dishanth, a 6th standard student, then delivered a thoughtful speech on the importance of Kannada Rajyotsava. He highlighted the significance of the day, which marks the formation of Karnataka and celebrates the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the state. His insights underscored the importance of preserving and promoting the Kannada language among younger generations.
Fr Lancy Joel Saldanha , the Principal of St. Mary’s Central School then addressed the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized the role of education in nurturing a sense of identity and belonging through language and culture. He encouraged students to take pride in their linguistic heritage and to actively participate in cultural activities.
