A memorable and inspiring occasion on 09.06.2023, St. Mary’s Central School had the distinct honour and privilege of hosting a visit from the esteemed Bishop most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha. The visit was highly anticipated by the school community, and it proved to be an unforgettable and inspiring experience for everyone involved.

The school has organized a beautiful programme by invoking God’s blessings through the choir. The students welcomed the Bishop and the gathering by performing a wonderful welcome dance. The guests were invited to beautify the seats on the dias. The guests included the Bishop of Mangalore Diocese most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, the correspondent of the school Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Fr. Thrishan, the secretary of the Bishop Fr. Vivik, the Asst. Parish priest of Kinnigoli church, Rev.Fr. Lancy Saldanha, the principal of the school, Mr. Stany Pinto, the vice president of the parents teacher association, Mrs. Anitha Noronha, secretary of the PTA, Mr. William Dsouza vice president of Kinnigoli parish council Mr. Michael Pinto, the secretary of Kinnigoli parish council.

The guests were welcomed by Mrs. Augustina with a welcome speech. The school report was read by Mr. Reshma Menezes. The correspondent appreciated the students in his speech. The Bishop addressed the gathering. One of the highlights of the visit was the Bishop’s address to the entire school. Gathered in the school hall, students, teachers and faculty eagerly listened to the Bishop’s words of wisdom and encouragement. His speech touched upon the importance of education, and he appreciated the students for achieving 100% result in the 10th standard board exams in the year 2022-23.

The school anthem was sung by the choir members of the school. Mrs. Ranjitha proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was hosted by Mrs. Anitha J.C. Dcosta.

The visit served as a catalyst for personal growth and the cultivation of a strong sense of moral values within the school community.
